Level 1 Coaching Weight Lifting

Developed in partnership with British Weight Lifting, the 1st4sport Level 1 Award in Coaching Weight Lifting (QCF) is the first qualification on the weight lifting coaching ladder. The qualification is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching weight lifting.

This course has a heavy practical element. Learning the practical competencies of Olympic weightlifting, you will be taught how to demonstrate variations of the squat, the clean and jerk, the snatch and the various progressions for teaching each lift. You will also learn about the technical aspects of coaching these lifts to your athletes/clients.

This course is a blended learning programme – the theory and assessments tasks will be completed via the e-learning platform followed by your designated practical learning days, allowing for you to spend more on the platform practically developing your skills and knowledge.

The British Weight Lifting E-Learning Platform will offer you a hub for learning and developing along the pathway. As a learner you will have access to your course material two weeks prior to your designated practical days and upon completion you will continue to be able to access your material and resource banks for a period of 12 months, allowing you to continually support your development as an active weight lifting coach.
