University of Bath pair win Student Cup

The University of Bath pair of Jake Sheaf and Josh Randall won beach volleyball’s national Student Cup in their first tournament playing together.

It was a good tournament for University of Bath players – Jake and Josh beat fellow University of Bath students Seain Cook and Chris Gregory 21-12, 21-17 in the final.

Jake and Josh went through the draw without dropping a set, which included a 15-4, 15-6 semi-final victory over the Southampton University pairing of Matt Pretty and Karlis Celmins.

Jake said: “This was the first tournament that me and josh have played together and it was a good warm up for the start of the season.”

Fellow University of Bath pairing Dave Langdale and Adam Smith finished seventh in the tournament at Bournemouth.

Marina Kramer and Melanie Kreye were the highest placed University of Bath players in the women’s competition finishing fifth.
