Allison and Parsons miss out as England finish fourth

03 September 2013

Team Bath netballers Rosie Allison and Yasmin Parsons missed out on the medals as England finished fourth at the World Youth Netball Championships in Glasgow.

The pair, who both played in Team Bath’s 2013 Superleague winning campaign, featured prominently for England during the championships.

England comfortably won all of their pool games to top Group D, starting with a 108-9 victory over Republic of Ireland, followed by an 82-26 win over Singapore, a 65-16 win over Papua New Guinea and a 71-22 win over Barbados.

That set up a quarter-final fixture against South Africa, which England won 45-33.

But England’s run came to an end in their semi-final against Australia, which the Aussies won 67-33. England’s campaign then ended with a 52-33 defeat to Jamaica in the bronze medal match and they and they had to settle for a fourth place finish.
