Heather to partner European champ

21 December 2009

University of Bath graduate and badminton player Heather Olver is forming a new mixed doubles partnership with European mixed doubles champion Anthony Clark.

The 23-year-old has been asked to partner Clark following the retirement of Donna Kellogg.

The pair will play their first tournament together at the Proton Malaysia Open in January.

Heather graduated from the University of Bath with a degree in Coach Education and Sports Development in 2008.

In 2007 she received a Full Blue in recognition of her sporting achievements at the University. During her time at the University she won a bronze medal with the England team at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Australia in 2004 and won her first senior international title at the 2005 Welsh Open.

Heather now also partners another University of Bath graduate, Mariana Agathangelou, in women’s doubles. The pair recently won the Irish International.

Anthony Clark represented Great Britain at each of the last two Olympic Games and also won a team silver and men’s doubles bronze for England at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

The University of Bath has one of the leading university sports departments in the UK. Under its TeamBath brand, its success is based on the expertise and dedication of staff, and its excellent facilities, used by the community and Olympic medal winners alike.
