Ian Cordwell – Head Hockey Coach

Title: Hockey Development Manager, Hockey Head Coach at the University of Bath.

Date and Place of Birth: 1966, Plymouth, UK

Athletes Coached: Team Bath Buccaneers men’s 1st; University of Bath men’s 1st; Team Bath Buccaneers U16s.

Biography: Ian was appointed as Hockey Head Coach at the University of Bath in April 2022, overseeing both the men’s and women’s student programmes. He is also Director of Performance Hockey at Team Bath Buccaneers having previously been a first-team player for the club.

A Level 4 Coach, Ian has extensive coaching experience having been Head Coach of Bristol Performance Centre, a GB Pathway Coach, junior coach to many age groups at Buccs and coach of both the University and Buccs’ men’s hockey teams. He is also a former Director of Hockey at University of Bristol, Oxford Hawks and Taunton Vale HC.
