Netball has a strong presence at the University of Bath including many student competitive and recreational opportunities as well as a Superleague team and the opportunities to qualify and develop as a coach.
Team Bath is a vibrant Superleague franchise with a rich history.
Its commitment to developing talent through innovative coaching in an inspirational training and playing environment at the University of Bath’s £30 million Sports Training Village has led to a host of players receiving international recognition – five members of the England squad that won a historic gold at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games came through the Blue & Gold programme including current superstars Eboni Beckford-Chambers (pictured) and Serena Guthrie.
The Team Bath franchise represents the South West and West of England and has a thriving community focus, attracting a large and engaged fan base. More than 9,000 spectators attended matches at the Sports Training Village during both the 2018 and 2019 Superleague seasons.
Student, youth and community clubs
As well as our high performance netball programme, we also have a thriving student, youth and community sport set-up.
The University of Bath Netball Club, coached by Superleague player Rachel Shaw, runs five BUCS teams and we have regular success in BUCS competitions including a title-win in 2012.
Our inclusive community club, Team Bath Community Club, will this year field eight senior teams and eight junior teams, all playing competitive netball at different levels from the National Premier League, Regional leagues and the Avon League.
We also offer a series of coach education workshops, holiday camps and tailored visits to develop future coaches and players alike.
