Team Bath Tennis, sponsored by Bath Building Society, provides top-class training and coaching opportunities for players of all ages and abilities. The programme is divided into four main areas.
The pinnacle of the Team Bath programme featuring top professional players, like Wimbledon 2022 quarter-finalist Alicia Barnett and Samantha Murray Sharan, and rising junior stars. Around 20-30 school-age players also access the programme every week. As well as training in the world-class facilities at the University of Bath, all Academy players are joined and supported by our coaches as they travel to tournaments at home and abroad.
We are home to both a Regional (RPDC) and Local Player Development Centre (LPDC), nurturing and guiding the talent of young players from the age of seven and helping them progress through regional, national and international competition.
Our University Performance Programme, which runs in tandem with the International High-Performance Tennis Academy, is for players who wish to combine an outstanding education at the University of Bath with training and competing on the national and international stage at such events at the World University Games and the annual Master’U BNP Paribas team tournament.
The University Club Programme is for students who wish to combine their studies with mid-to-good standard tennis and enjoy the sport recreationally.
Delivered by a team of experienced and qualified coaches, our Club and Community programme is an all-inclusive tennis programme f0r adults and juniors from aged three upwards which spans over three terms per year (aligned with school terms). We have approaching 1,000 coaching bookings at our Team Bath Sports Training Village home, including options for individual lessons, as well as local venues Frome Selwood Tennis Club and Saltford Tennis Club.
Our team of first-class tennis coaches each have experience of playing tennis at a high level and work hard to tailor coaching sessions to suit the needs of individual players. New players and seasoned pros alike are welcome.
