Team Bath’s football programme, made famous by our former club Team Bath FC’s FA Cup runs, offers:
- Students the opportunity to combine high performance football with a top degree
- Children the chance to develop their skills using our state-of-the-art facilities
- Recreational players the platform to compete on a casual basis
Headline-grabbing Team Bath FC disbanded in 2009 but the legacy of the inspirational club remains within the university football programme.
The excellent coaching team is headed by former Norwich City and Southend United player Che Wilson.
Our unique partnership with Bath City FC means our top players have the opportunity to feed into City’s U21 development squad and first team.

A platform for talent to thrive
The University’s top-class football facilities are utilised by Premier League club Southampton FC’s famous academy branch which helped discover and develop talent such as Gareth Bale and Nathan Dyer.
Using the same facilities, Team Bath Tribe aims to develop young players with excellent coaching and a thriving performance centre.
Accessible by everyone
Alongside the University’s performance football programme and youth opportunities, there are even more opportunities for recreational players to get involved.
The university’s set-up includes futsal teams, inter-halls leagues, inter-department teams and lower standard 11-a-side teams among much else.
The University of Bath’s Sports Training Village features eight grass football pitches which include a fully floodlit infield pitch and two artificial pitches. There are also further full-size pitches and five junior pitches at the nearby Sulis Club.
Prices for hiring our astro pitches can be found within the pay and play section on our prices page.
