A complete athletics set-up

The athletics programme at Team Bath caters for athletes from grassroots level right through to performance standard.

Our world-class track and field facilities are open to the public, meaning young athletes and recreational and club standard athletes can train at the same venue used by Olympic-standard competitors.

In April 2019 we became only the second University in the country to be awarded a Gold Charter Mark by England Athletics, recognising the high standards of coaching and support offered to student-athletes across all track and field disciplines, as well as the vibrant training and competitive environment provided at the Sports Training Village.

Home to some star names

Some of the leading stars in UK athletics train or have trained at the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village.

Olympic, World and European medallists Colin Jackson, Jason Gardener, Eilidh Doyle and Dai Greene are members of our alumni, while Rio 2016 Olympic medallist Emily Diamond (below with Eilidh Doyle), Paralympic Champion Paul Blake, World Para-Athletics Champion Sophie Kamlish, MJ Church ambassador David King, Commonwealth medallist Leon Reid and rising British stars Cameron Chalmers and Alastair Chalmers are some of the top-level athletics stars who currently train at the STV.
