A complete athletics set-up
Our world-class track and field facilities are open to the public, meaning young athletes and recreational and club standard athletes can train at the same venue used by Olympic-standard competitors.
We were only the second University in the country to be awarded a Gold Charter Mark by England Athletics, recognising the high standards of coaching and support offered to student-athletes across all track and field disciplines, as well as the vibrant training and competitive environment provided at the Sports Training Village.
Home to some star names
Some of the leading stars in UK athletics train or have trained at the University of Bath’s Sports Training Village.
Olympic, World and European medallists Colin Jackson, Jason Gardener, Eilidh Doyle and Dai Greene are members of our athletics alumni, as is Paralympic Champion Paul Blake and fellow Paralympic medallists Ben Rushgrove and Katrina Hart. Rio 2016 Olympic medallist Emily Diamond, World Para-Athletics medallists Sophie Kamlish and Polly Maton, and Tokyo 2020 Olympic high jump star Tom Gale are some of the top-level athletics stars who currently train at the STV.
Athletics clubs and youth programmes
We are home to the University of Bath Athletics Club (click here to see the student-athletes currently in our performance squad) and Team Bath AC, which is one of the largest athletics clubs in England. These clubs train regularly and Team Bath AC is open to members of the public.
Team Bath Tribe also runs popular athletics sessions for youngsters during school terms and holidays. Click here to find out more.
The outdoor athletics track is available to use on a pay-as-you-go basis. Please click here to see the current prices.
