Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE)

Team Bath Judo is one of six centres in England that runs a bespoke Diploma in Sporting Excellence (DiSE) course, targeted at aspiring judoka aged between 16 and 19.

As well as increasing the training volume of promising young judoka, the scheme – which runs at Bath during school holidays – also encourages them to stay in education and, with the qualification worth 64 UCAS points, provides another route to studying at university.

James Reseigh and Sidney Tancock, who have gone on to study and train at the University of Bath after progressing through the DiSE programme, told us about their positive experiences – read the full story by clicking here.

Tatum Keen and Grace Griffiths, who were also both part of the DiSE programme at Team Bath, were selected to represent Team GB at the Baku 2019 European Youth Olympic Festival.
