The £35million Sports Training Village is home to Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth Champions across a host of sports
Read MoreThe University of Bath has established a reputation for hosting high-quality training and preparation camps and events.
In 2023 we welcomed a record-breaking field of more than 800 athletes from 50 countries – ranging from under-9s through to over-70s – to the 2023 UIPM Pentathlon and Laser-Run World Championships. That was an Olympic qualifying event, as were the Modern Pentathlon European Championships successfully staged in 2015 and 2019.
Other highlights include three Invictus Games UK Team Trials; and the first Fed Cup tennis event to be staged in Great Britain for 25 years.
Athletes from a dozen nations trained at the University ahead of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They included Olympic swimmers from China and badminton players from Malaysia, and we were chosen to host ParalympicsGB’s main preparation camps ahead of London 2012. Other international squads to have staged training camps here include England Rugby, both men’s and women’s; Australia during the 2015 Rugby World Cup; and New Zealand and South Africa netball.
We also regularly host domestic netball matches which are attended by up to 2,000 spectators.
