Two further University of Bath-based swimmers have been added to the Team GB team for the London 2012 Olympic Games following successes at the ASA National Championships.

Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Chris Walker-Hebborn join the GB swimming team for the Olympics, bringing the total number of Team Bath-based swimmers selected to five.

Siobhan-Marie becomes the youngest member of the GB swimming team for the Games at 16. She goes in the 100m breaststroke after smashing her personal best to win gold at the ASA Nationals on Saturday.

Chris, who like Siobhan-Marie, trains at the British Gas Bath Intensive Training Centre, contests both the 100m and 200m backstroke at London 2012.

They join Michael Jamieson, Stacey Tadd and Andrew Willis in the London 2012 team – the trio were selected following their performances at the British Championships in March

It has now been confirmed that Michael will swim the 100m breaststroke as well as the 200m breaststroke. Fellow ITC swimmer Andrew Willis goes in the men’s 200m breaststroke, with Stacey Tadd, coached by Team Bath head swimming coach Mark Skimming, going in the women’s 200m breaststroke.
