Netball trio help GB become World University champions

09 July 2012

The Team Bath trio of Kadeen Corbin, Yasmin Parsons and Mia Ritchie are celebrating helping Great Britain to victory at the inaugural World University Netball Championships.

All three University of Bath students featured in a closely contested final as Great Britain beat host nation South Africa 53-49 in Cape Town.

Kadeen played the whole of the final at goal keeper, with Mia starting at centre and being replaced by Yasmin later in the game.

Kadeen, Yasmin and Mia are Sports Performance students and were members of the University of Bath team that won the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Championships this year for the first time for four years. They were also members of Team Bath’s 2012 Fiat Netball Superleague squad.

All three received support from the Alumni Elite Athlete Fund, made possible by donations from University of Bath graduates, to help with the costs of competing at the championships. The trio also each receive a Trendell Scholarship.
