Tennis ace Samantha Murray lands Team Bath MCTA’s first Challenger title

Team Bath MCTA tennis player Samantha Murray has won the Aegon GB Pro-Series Glasgow title – the first Challenger event success for a Team Bath tennis player.

In the final, 25 year-old Murray defeated seventh seed Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 to win her first ever title at a Futures level.

On her way to the final, unseeded Murray recorded some impressive wins over second seeded Romanian Cristina-Andreea Mitu, whom she beat in straight sets 6-1, 6-0 and fifth seeded Lithuanian Stephanie Vogt.

Murray joined Team Bath in 2010 after playing college tennis in the USA. She is coached by Dave Sammel who is the Head Coach at Team Bath MCTA’s International Academy.
