Yorkshire Jets end Team Bath Netball’s Superleague semi-final hopes

02 April 2015

Team Bath Netball’s hopes of reaching the Superleague semi-finals are over following a battling 55-44 defeat to Yorkshire Jets on Thursday.

Jess Thirlby’s team went to Leeds knowing they must win to keep alive their chances of catching fourth-placed Jets.

And the visitors got off to a flying start, racing into a 4-0 lead before Jets hit back to take a 14-11 advantage into the second quarter.

Team Bath found themselves 31-22 down at half-time but fought back strongly in the closing stages of the third period to close the gap to 40-36.

However, Jets managed to hold on for a victory which ensures they will finish in the top four and join Manchester Thunder, Surrey Storm and Hertfordshire Mavericks in the semi-finals.

Team Bath Netball play their penultimate game of the season at Loughborough Lightning on Easter Monday.

They then conclude their campaign with a televised home match against Celtic Dragons on Monday, April 13 (7.45pm). Doors open at 6.45pm and pre-match entertainment and warm-ups get under way at 7pm.
