12 June 2015

World champion Paul Blake will be looking to record his second IPC Athletics Grand Prix victory of 2015 when University of Bath-based athletes compete in Grosseto, Italy this weekend.

The double London 2012 Paralympic Games medalist, coached at the Sports Training Village by Rob Ellchuk, tops the T36 400m rankings this year after clocking 56.26 to win in Dubai in February.

Blake will also contest the T36 100m this weekend, while training partner and fellow London 2012 medalist Katrina Hart goes in the women’s T37 100m. Sophie Kamlish will compete in the T44 100m and 200m.

Meanwhile, University of Bath-based hurdler Seb Rodger has been added to the British Athletics team for the European Team Championships in Cheboksary, Russia.

The 23-year-old, coached by James Hillier, will compete in the 400m hurdles and replaces injured former Bath-based athlete Jack Green.

Danny Talbot, Lawrence Clarke, Andy Robertson, Eilidh Child, Laura Maddox and Jazmin Sawyers will also be in action at the Championships, taking place from June 20-21.

Child competed in the Oslo Diamond League meeting on Thursday, finishing sixth in the 400m hurdles in 55.97.
