Paralympic skiing champion Kelly Gallagher back on top of the podium at World Cup

27 February 2016

University of Bath graduate Kelly Gallagher enjoyed her biggest success since winning gold at the Sochi 2014 Winter Paralympic Games as she won the World Cup slalom final in Aspen, Colorado on Saturday.

The 30-year-old and new guide Gary Smith finished more than two seconds clear of American skier Danelle Umstead and her husband, Rob, in the visually impaired category.

Gallagher, who studied Mathematics, made history two years ago when she won the Super-G title with Charlotte Evans – Britain’s first-ever Winter Paralympic gold medal.
