30 March 2016

An eight-strong Pentathlon GB squad will contest this week’s UIPM World Cup in Rome, Italy – the latest step on the road to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

University of Bath graduates Kate French, Joanna Muir, Samantha Murray and Freyja Prentice start the campaign today (Wednesday) with the women’s qualifiers, all hoping to secure a place in Friday’s final.

The men’s team of Sam Curry, Mathematics student Joe Choong, Jamie Cooke and Joe Evans are in qualifying action on Thursday, with their final taking place on Saturday.

It is the third World Cup of the Olympic season and the first in Europe, following competitions in Egypt and Brazil.
