England call up University of Bath sporting scholar Beck Cutting for World Rugby U20 Championship in France

21 May 2018

The University of Bath’s rugby club will once again have a representative at the World Rugby U20 Championship after sporting scholar Beck Cutting was named in the England squad for the 2018 edition.

The hooker, who studies Sport & Social Sciences and is supported by a Trendell Scholarship, has been selected in the 28-man squad for the tournament being staged in France from May 30 to June 17.

Cutting plays his club rugby for Worcester Warriors and has represented the University in BUCS Super Rugby competition this season. He was also part of the England squad for this year’s U20 Six Nations.

England have reached the last five finals at the World U20 Championships, with Sports Performance student and Bath Rugby Academy player Darren Atkins part of the team that won the title in 2016. He was also in the squad that was pipped by New Zealand last year along with fellow Sports Performance student Josh Bayliss.
