Great Britain provided the perfect finish to an outstanding week of Fed Cup tennis at the University of Bath Sports Training Village as they beat Serbia to secure their place in April’s World Group II promotion play-offs.

Katie Boulter got the host nation off to a great start, beating Ivana Jorovic 6-4 6-3, before Johanna Konta battled through the pain barrier to overcome Aleksandra Krunic 7-6 (7-1) 3-6 6-2 in another epic encounter that had a capacity crowd on Centre Court enthralled throughout.

The victory capped a hugely-successful Europe/Africa Zone Group I tournament at Team Bath Tennis, which saw more than 16,000 tickets sold over the four-day competition. Over 1,000 children also got to enjoy tennis taster sessions at the Sports Training Village from both Team Bath Tennis coaches and Judy Murray’s She Rallies organisation.

Team Bath Tennis offers playing and coaching opportunities all year round to players of all ages and ability – public, students and players on the international circuit – both on the indoor and outdoor courts. Holiday camps are also provided, the next one taking place in Easter. Click here to find out more about the all-encompassing tennis programme at the University of Bath.
