England Rugby call-up University of Bath student Max Ojomoh for U20 squad ahead of Six Nations and World Championships

03 January 2020

University of Bath student Max Ojomoh has been named in the England Rugby men’s U20 squad for an exciting 2020 that includes the Six Nations Championship and this summer’s World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy.

Ojomoh, who is in the first year of a Business Administration degree, combines study with training and playing for both Bath Rugby Academy and University’s BUCS Super Rugby team.

The talented centre – son of former England and Bath flanker Steve Ojomoh – has been part of the Bath Rugby pathway since the age of 14 and made his senior debut in September’s Premiership Cup fixture against Exeter Chiefs.

He has previously represented England at U18 level, making his first appearance in March 2019, and has been a regular starter for Team Bath in BUCS Super Rugby this season.

Ojomoh and the other members of the 32-strong England squad will meet at Bisham Abbey national sports centre this weekend to continue their preparations for the opening Six Nations fixture in France on Saturday, February 1.

They also visit Scotland on February 7 and Italy on March 15, either side of home fixtures against Ireland in Northampton on February 21 and Wales in Gloucester on March 6.

Ojomoh joins an impressive group of University of Bath students to be selected for England U20s in recent years that includes current Bath player Josh Bayliss plus current Sport & Social Sciences student Beck Cutting, who plays for Worcester Warriors.
