University of Bath student George Kroussaniotakis followed up his victory at the Cyprus Judo Championships by earning another podium place at the Zouk Mikhael Asian Open in Lebanon.

The Sport & Exercise Science student, who trains with Team Bath Judo in the Sports Training Village dojo, was crowned as national champion in the men’s -100kg weight division.

He then continued that fine form in Lebanon, producing his best-ever result at Continental Open level as he beat Kuwait’s Ghanam Aldikan and Nicolas Pavlovski of France on his way to the -100kg final. Estonia’s Grigori Minaskin took the win in the gold-medal match but silver was an impressive result for Kroussaniotakis.
