Team Bath’s Imogen Allison helps Vitality Roses to series win over Jamaica as student Jayda Pechova gains more England experience
Team Bath Netball’s Imogen Allison started all three matches as the Vitality Roses recorded a thrilling 2-1 series victory over Commonwealth Games silver-medallists Jamaica in their first matches of the 2023 Netball World Cup year.
Allison lined up at wing-defence during an excellent 73-52 victory for England in the opening match at Manchester’s AO Arena on Wednesday.
She moved to centre for the weekend’s back-to-back fixtures at London’s Copper Box Arena, which saw the Sunshine Girls edged the second match 61-58 and lead 31-30 at half-time on Sunday before a fantastic third quarter set the Roses up for a decisive 63-59 success.
New Blue & Gold Super League recruit Jayda Pechova also gained more international experience as she started for England A in their 62-44 victory over the Scottish Thistles in the curtain-raiser for the first match between the Roses and Jamaica.
Pechova, a Sports Performance fresher at the University of Bath, also impressed for the Future Roses in their weekend matches against the England Thorns men’s national teams.
