Super six medals for University of Bath students at 2023 BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships

University of Bath students won six medals – two silver and four bronze – when they competed at the 2023 BUCS Outdoor Athletics Championships over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Alex O’Callaghan-Brown (Psychology), pictured top left, set a new personal best of 53.18 to finish runner-up in the men’s 400m hurdles and Evelyn Fonteyne (Biology) took women’s high jump silver with a 1.72m clearance.

Santander Sporting Scholar Aleeya Sibbons (Architecture) took bronze in the women’s 100m having smashed her personal best and set a new championship record of 11.47 in the semi-finals.

England international Justin Davies (Biomedical Sciences) clocked 1:51.17 for third place in the men’s 800m and Millie Wills (Sports Performance) recorded a new PB of 6:44.86 to win 3,000m steeplechase bronze.

Ben Sutton (Economics) completed the medal collection by placing third in the men’s long jump with a 7.09m leap.
