Former Bath sporting scholar Imogen Allison joins Queensland Firebirds for 2025 and 2026 Suncorp Super Netball seasons

Former Team Bath Netball star and University of Bath sporting scholar Imogen Allison will play professionally in Australia in 2025 and 2026 after signing for Queensland Firebirds.
Allison, who developed into one of the world’s leading mid-courters during her seven years in Blue & Gold from 2016 to 2023, was player of the year when Team Bath reached the 2021 Super League Grand Final. She was also a key figure when England won a historic silver at the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.
“I’ve always enjoyed watching SSN [Suncorp Super Netball] and hoped to get the opportunity to play in it,” Allison told the Firebirds website.
“I’m at the point in my career where I feel like I’ll really benefit from experiencing different styles of play in the Australian league and also with a bit of a Kiwi style playing under [Head Coach] Kiri Wills.
“I’m most looking forward to meeting my team-mates and getting to know them on and off the court. I’m also looking forward to getting to know Brisbane. I’ve only been once and I loved the city so I’m excited to explore more.”
Allison studied Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Bath, where she was supported by a King Sporting Scholarship. Applications are now being taken from new and current student-athletes for the 2024-25 scholarship programme, visit teambath.com/scholarships to find out more.
