First bobsleigh medals on the board as Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence secure terrific two-man silver for GB at Sigulda World Cup
Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence bagged University of Bath-based British Bobsleigh’s first medal of the IBSF World Cup season when they won silver in Sigulda on Sunday.
It was the team’s first two-man medal since January 2023 and came eight days after the duo had finished fourth in the season opener in Altenberg.
Hall and Greg Cackett were also just off the podium in the first race of a double-header weekend in Sigulda.
“It’s great to be back on the podium,” said Hall. “It’s always an amazing feeling and we’ve missed it. We made a habit of it the year before last but last season was a really tough one with all the injuries the team were hit with.”
The GB2 team of Adam Baird and Austin Milward enjoyed a career-best performance in the first race of the weekend, securing their first-ever top-10 finish at World Cup level.
Sunday’s silver came two days after Marcus Wyatt and Matt Weston had won gold and silver respectively in the men’s skeleton.
The University of Bath is home to the UK’s only outdoor push-start training track and British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association athletes also do their strength and conditioning work at the Team Bath Sports Training Village. Click here to find out more.
