Bobsleigh bronze in St Moritz maintains World Cup momentum for Bath-based four-man crew

12 January 2025

Brad Hall’s four-man crew followed up their historic gold in Winterberg with bronze in St Moritz as University of Bath-based British Bobsleigh continued their excellent IBSF World Cup form.

Hall, Taylor Lawrence, Leon Greenwood and Greg Cackett were tied for top spot after the first run before German teams led by Francesco Friedrich and Johannes Lochner pulled clear in Run 2.

It was a second medal in three World Cup races for GB, who sit second in the overall rankings going into the fourth race of the season in Innsbruck on the weekend of 18-19 January.

Adam Baird, Austin Milward, Alex Cartagena and Luka Williams were 18th in what was their first full two-man race together as a crew.

Hall and Cackett placed sixth in Saturday’s two-man race, with Baird and Milward 18th, while Adele Nicoll – on her return from a foot injury – and Kya Placide were 16th in the women’s race.

The University of Bath is home to the UK’s only outdoor push-start training track and British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association athletes also do their strength and conditioning work at the Team Bath Sports Training Village. Click here to find out more.
