Bath scholar Jayda Pechova targeting Netball World Youth Cup after being named as NSL Young Player of the Year 2025

19 July 2025

A standout season with new franchise Nottingham Forest has earned University of Bath sporting scholar Jayda Pechova the NSL (Netball Super League) Young Player of the Year Award for 2025.

The Sports Performance student was in the top three players for interceptions, deflections and gains as she continued the excellent defensive partnership she had forged with Tash Pavelin at Team Bath Netball to help Forest finish fifth in their debut season.

Pechova, who is supported by a Trendell Sporting Scholarship, is now hoping to secure her place in the England squad for September’s Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar.

She is one of three scholars in the England training squad, along with Team Bath NXT Gen star Alanna Pullen (Alumni Fund) and London Pulse Super League title winner Sophie Kelly (Bill Whiteley Scholarship).
