British Bobsleigh’s men made a solid start to the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games season with two wider podium placings on the opening IBSF World Cup weekend.

Brakeman Olly Butterworth, making his GBR1 debut in place of the injured Taylor Lawrence, helped Brad Hall to sixth spot in the two-man on Saturday.

That result on the track that will host the Olympics in three months’ time was matched the following day in the four-man by Hall, debutant Alex Cartagena, Leon Greenwood and Greg Cackett.

The women’s races saw Adele Nicoll place 25th in the monobob, then team up with Ashleigh Nelson for 17th in the two-woman.

The British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association (BBSA) athletes, who train at the University of Bath, are now on their way to Innsbruck, Austria for the second round of racing on 29&30 November.
