Stephen Baddeley, Director of Sport at the University of Bath, has been presented with a Meritorious Service Award by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
The accolade from the sport’s global governing body is “in appreciation of long service and a significant contribution to the world growth of badminton”.
He was presented with the award by BWF Vice President (Europe) Robbert de Kock during the 2026 YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.
Stephen won numerous Commonwealth, European and national titles during an outstanding playing career, and remains England’s only Commonwealth Games men’s singles gold medallist following his success in Glasgow in 1986.
