Customer information: Update on proposed new student accommodation adjacent to Sports Training Village
B&NES Council has resolved to grant planning permission to the University of Bath for new student accommodation (926 beds) and amenities adjacent to the Sports Training Village.
Pending a final decision in late May, work could begin later this year and may continue in some form until early 2029. The initial works may also happen at the same time as activity to resurface the outdoor athletics track.
Inevitably, construction would involve increased noise, disruption and site traffic at times. The proposed construction would also remove the East Car Park Overflow and possibly some additional spaces for access and safety, resulting in fewer car parking spaces around the STV.
We would collaborate with the builders to minimise issues for STV users with timely communications, maps and signage.
