Sporting scholar Lauren Williams gets GB call for Loughborough International athletics meet

17 May 2018

University of Bath sporting scholar Lauren Williams has been named in a 54-strong British junior team for Sunday’s Loughborough International athletics meeting.

The Management with Marketing student, who is supported by a Santander Scholarship, will race in both the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.

British team leader Trevor Painter said: “The Loughborough International is a fantastic early-season opportunity for those athletes who are looking to be part of the British team for the World Junior Championships to test themselves in a high-quality competition environment.”

Williams is part of the student athletics squad at the University and represented the Blue and Gold in her first BUCS Outdoors Championships last week, finishing a fine fifth in the 400m hurdles final in 60.73.
