City of Bath rhythmic gymnasts bloom at Rose Cup after GLL Sports Foundation grant award

20 May 2018

City of Bath Rhythmic Gymnastics Club members, who train at the University of Bath, were out in force at the Rose Cup in Northampton this weekend.

The Espoir Group Red (pictured) performed a sparkling routine against some tough competition to win a superb silver medal.

The individual competitions saw Sarah, in her 15th year with the club, strike gold in the Level 4 senior division. Kashvi won an impressive silver medal in ball and clubs, there was bronze in both ribbon and ball for Vanessa and Elisabeth won silver in ball while excellent performances from Rebecca, Rosa and Elle demonstrated the strength of the club.

Elsewhere, the Junior White team were recognised for their achievements to date when they were awarded Athlete Sport Grants from the GLL Sports Foundation. Paralympic swimming champion Stephanie Millward, who trains at the University with Team Bath AS, was the guest speaker and said it was possible to achieve anything if you put your mind to it – an inspiring message for the gymnasts.

Head coach Sarah Moon said: “This is an amazing achievement for the girls and is testament to the hard work they have put into their gymnastics over the past year.”
