First U21 call for Stuart Rushmere as hockey players gain international experience with England and Scotland

08 August 2018

Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club players Tim Nurse and Stuart Rushmere gained more international experience over the weekend as they represented England U21 in a three-match series against a strong Germany team.

Nurse, a University of Bath Sports Performance student who is supported by a Santander Sports Scholarship, has been with the U21 squad for the past year but Rushmere was stepping up to that level for the first time.

The Millfield School student was selected for the training camp and Germany series, which took place at Bisham Abbey, after captaining England U18 at last month’s EuroHockey Youth Championships (pictured).

University of Bath men’s 1st-team players Alex Batstone and Kyle Gladwin, who study Politics with Economics and Sports Performance respectively, were in the Scotland U21 squad for their three-match series against Wales Development in Wrexham.
