Sporting scholar Tim Nurse captains Great Britain Hockey in international matches against Germany

29 May 2019

University of Bath sporting scholar Tim Nurse has been selected to captain the Great Britain Hockey Men’s Development Squad in their three-match series against Germany this week.

It continues another impressive season of international development for MJ Church Ambassador Nurse, who studies Sports Performance and is supported by a King Sporting Scholarship.

He and fellow Team Bath Buccaneers player Stuart Rushmere helped GB U21s win the Sultan of Johor Cup in October and both also represented England at U21 level in a series against Belgium over Easter.

The GB Elite Development Programme is part of a strategic objective during the Tokyo 2020 cycle to accelerate the development of future medal-winning Olympians.
