University of Bath students and graduates helped Pentathlon GB add two more silvers to their outstanding medal haul for 2019 at the U24 Modern Pentathlon European Championships in Poland.

Team Bath Dual Career athlete Olivia Green, who studies Sport & Exercise Science, and Psychology student Charlie Follett, supported by a Santander Sports Scholarship, finished fifth and sixth respectively in the women’s final on Friday.

That, combined with 17th spot for Physical Activity & Health student Georgia Hannam, earned GB the team silver. Emma Whitaker, supported by TASS, also placed 19th overall.

The following day saw GB’s men repeat the team silver success, with Sports Performance student and Santander Scholar Bradley Sutton (pictured) leading the way in fifth place individually.

Alumnus Jamie Harper and Henry Choong completed the team, in 12th and 15th respectively, while Electronic & Electrical Engineering student Oliver Murray, also supported by a Santander Scholarship, was 24th.

He then teamed up with Follett to finish fifth in the mixed relay on Sunday, while Green and Harper were eighth overall.

Scholarship applications are now being accepted from current and prospective University of Bath student-athletes for the 2020-21 academic year – click here to find out more.
