The Jolly Sailor cruise to victory as University of Bath hosts Strength in Depth Origins ultimate team fitness challenge for sixth year

02 December 2019

The Jolly Sailor Invincibles from Cornwall emerged triumphant as the University of Bath Sports Training Village hosted Strength in Depth Origins – the ultimate team test of fitness and endurance – for a sixth successive year.

An action-packed weekend saw 70 teams of 12 battle it out across two days in a range of gruelling challenges utilising the STV’s swimming pool, indoor and outdoor athletics tracks, and the sports hall which was transformed into a giant fitness arena.

The Jolly Sailor team ranked in the top three in five of the eight challenges to deservedly take the title with 48 points, 15 clear of runners-up Crossfit 1971 from London. Norway’s Crossfit Oslo Wolfpack, who went into the weekend as defending champions, completed the top three.
