Strong finish sees Team Bath Buccaneers secure top-four placing in 2020 Jaffa Super 6s indoor hockey season
Team Bath Buccaneers finished a fine fourth overall after two consistent weekends in their 2020 Jaffa Super 6s Division 1 indoor hockey campaign.
The only teams to defeat Buccs’ men were Brooklands and Repton, who placed first and second overall.
Buccs went into the second weekend of competition at UWE Bristol sitting fifth in the table and started strongly, beating Ashmoor 7-4 before scoring three times in the final quarter to secure a 4-4 draw with the University of Exeter.
Eventual champions Brooklands proved too strong in the next match, winning 5-2, but Buccs finished the competition strongly by holding off a fierce comeback bid to beat third-placed Beeston 5-4.
Ben Stone scored four penalty corners for Buccs in that match to finish with 14 goals overall, putting him second in the leading scorers’ ranking.
