Three University of Bath students have been named in the England Rugby Women’s U20 squad to face South Africa in a development match this weekend.

(Pictured from left) Jenny Hesketh (Sport Management & Coaching), China Kill (Criminology) and Gabriella Nigrelli (Civil and Architectural Engineering), who all play for Bristol Bears, have been called up for the fixture at London Irish RFC on Sunday (21st).

Sport Management & Coaching student Grace Crompton has also been selected in the GB women’s squad for December’s Emirates Dubai 7s having made an impressive international senior debut during two recent HSBC World Rugby 7s events in Canada.

All four are supported by the Team Bath Dual Career programme and the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS).

Aaron James, Head of Rugby at the University of Bath, said: “I’m really pleased to see Jenny, China, Gabriella and Grace getting selected for international competitions and continuing a fine history of University of Bath women’s rugby players representing their countries. All have been performing well in the Allianz 15s this season and their selection is well deserved.

“The women’s programme is going from strength to strength and this week saw us field a 2nd XV against Bath Rugby Ladies 3rds. This is testament to the increased numbers of players joining a programme that is being strongly led by Maria Crowfoot, Tom Page and Garin Vivian from Bath Rugby.”
