Alicia Barnett and University of Bath graduate Ben Jones both enjoyed more doubles success on the international circuit over the weekend, taking the number of senior titles won by Team Bath Tennis players this year to 19.

It was a second win in Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh in a week for Jones and partner Daniel Little, who completed an ITF World Tour double with an impressive 6-3 6-2 victory over Neil Oberleitner and Volodymyr Uzhylovskyi.

Jones, who was supported by Buchan Jones and Alumni Fund sporting scholarships while studying and training at the University of Bath, and Little dropped just one set from their eight matches during the past fortnight.

Barnett teamed up with Taiwan’s Hsieh Yu-Chieh to win the women’s doubles crown at the ITF Madeira Ladies Open in Funchal, coming through a hard-fought final 6-1 3-6 10-8 against Daniela Vismane and Ines Murta.

The BUCS Sport Doubles Championship also took place in London over the weekend with University of Bath students Lauren Armstrong and Freya Davies winning bronze in the women’s competition.
