There was plenty of success for University of Bath badminton players when they competed at the Wiltshire Senior Silver competition.

Cara Collins and her women’s doubles partner

Physics student Kaylan Jensen won the men’s singles title and Katie Scott (pictured top), who studies Psychology, came out on top in the women’s singles.

Alicia Chu and her mixed doubles partner

She was also runner-up in a women’s doubles competition won by Sports Performance student Cara Collins, while International Management and Modern Languages (French) student Alicia Chu was a mixed doubles finalist and reached the women’s doubles semi-finals with Emma Hooper (Sport Management & Coaching).

There were more impressive performances at the Welsh International Championships in Cardiff as Santander Sporting Scholar Will Jones and partner Chua Yue Chern beat world-ranked 63 pair Fabien Delrue and William Villeger 21-15 19-21 21-18 in the first round of the men’s doubles.

Sadly Jones, who is coached by Peter Bush at the Team Bath Sports Training Village, had to retire injured in the second round.
