Hurdlers David King and Nick Andrews head to IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships after finalising preparations at Team Bath
Sprint hurdlers David King and Nick Andrews are competing at the IAAF World Indoor Athletics Championships in Serbia this weekend after finalising their preparations at the Team Bath Sports Training Village.
They will be representing Great Britain and Australia respectively in the men’s 60m hurdles competition in Belgrade, with all the action taking place on Sunday 20th March with the heats at 9.05am GMT, semi-final at 4.05pm GMT and final at 6.30pm GMT.
Tokyo Olympian King is no stranger to the STV having trained there full-time from 2012 to 2019, during which time he also completed a Sports Performance degree. Based in the United States since 2020 and coached by Tim O’Neill, he has been back in Bath for the past couple of months while competing on the European indoor circuit.
He has been in fine form too, setting a new personal best of 7.57 at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold event in Madrid earlier this month.
Andrews, who is part of King’s training group in the US, has joined him at Team Bath for the past month and has also set a new PB during the indoor season, clocking 7.71 in Dusseldorf, Germany in February. He is part of Australia’s biggest-ever team for a World Indoor Championships.
