British Bobsleigh “absolutely buzzing” after storming to second World Cup four-man gold of 2025 in St Moritz

Team Hall saw their stellar IBSF World Cup season reach even greater heights in St Moritz as the University of Bath-based four-man bobsleigh crew won gold at the spiritual home of sliding.
Brad Hall, Taylor Lawrence, Arran Gulliver and Leon Greenwood produced two stunning starts as they finished two tenths of a second clear of back-to-back Olympic Champion Francesco Friedrich.
It follows on from the same quartet’s silver medal the previous week in Igls and is Britain’s second four-man gold of 2025.
“It’s honestly the best feeling in the world to get that gold medal, I’m absolutely buzzing right now,” said Greenwood.
“It’s my first ever gold medal in the sport and it’s come at an amazing place. It means so much to everyone in the team and you could see that emotion when we got out of the sled at the end.
“Brad pulled out two brilliant drives here and we’re showing how consistent we are as a squad – that’s four medals in five races, with two of them gold.”
Britain’s hopes of completing a golden double over the weekend were denied when Sunday’s scheduled World Cup race was postponed due to warm weather.
Next up for the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association (BBSA) is the World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway from 6-8 February which will double as the European Championships.
The University of Bath is home to the UK’s only outdoor push-start training track and British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association athletes also do their strength and conditioning work at the Team Bath Sports Training Village. Click here to find out more.
