Four University of Bath-based swimmers have been officially selected to represent Aquatics GB at the 2026 European Championships, taking place in Paris from 10-16 August.

Sports Performance alumnus Josh Gammon secured his place in the 36-strong British squad by winning 50m butterfly gold at the Aquatics GB Championships.

He is joined by Aquatics GB Bath Performance Centre team-mates Jacob Peters and Jack Skerry, the latter a Computer Science student supported by a US Foundation Sports Scholarship, who both set the European qualification standard while winning silver medals in London.

Bill Whiteley Scholar Matthew Ward has also been selected after dipping under the 100m backstroke qualification time while setting a new Scottish record of 53.29 in the Aquatics GB Championships heats. He went on to win silver in the final.

David McNulty, Lead Coach at the Bath Performance Centre, is one of seven coaches selected to support the team in Paris.

The Olympic-sized pool used for training by the elite British swimmers is also open to the public (booking required). Click here to view the swim-fit timetable.
