Aleeya Sibbons is latest University of Bath athlete heading to Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games after Team England relay call

29 June 2026

Sprinter Aleeya Sibbons has become the latest University of Bath-based athlete to be officially selected for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Sibbons, coached by Colin Bovell, has been named in the Team England women’s 4x100m relay squad along with Amy Hunt, Imani-Lara Lansiquot, Daryll Neita and Dina Asher-Smith.

It will be a first major championship for former sporting scholar Sibbons, who first began training at the University when she started an Architecture degree course in 2021. She graduated last summer but has continued to train full-time at the Team Bath Sports Training Village.

She is the second track and field athlete to be picked for Glasgow 2026 following Biomedical Sciences student Justin Davies’s selection in the Team Wales squad.

Also selected in the Team England squad is Jazmin Sawyers, who was training at Team Bath when she won long jump silver the last time Glasgow hosted the Games in 2014.

This year’s edition will run from 23rd July to 2nd August, with Davies starting his 800m campaign on Tuesday 28th July and the women’s 4x100m relay taking place on Saturday 1st August.
