GB successes as Sochi build-up continues

The British skeleton team produced another strong set of results in the lead up to the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Lizzy Yarnold, who does some of her training at the University of Bath, added a silver medal at the second World Cup of the season at Park City in the USA to the gold she won in the opening competition in Calgary, Canada.

University of Bath graduate Shelley Rudman, the reigning world champion, made it back-to-back fourth place finishes.

In the men’s races, University of Bath student Dom Parsons followed his bronze in Calgary with 10th in Park City. Parsons is studying for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and is supported by a Santander Sports Scholarship.

Meanwhile, Paula Walker and Rebekah Wilson secured their best finishes of the season to date at the bobsleigh World Cup. Tenth in Calgary at World Cup 1, the GBR 1 British bobsleigh crew they came eight in each of the two races at Park City.
