Crew Bath’s Kate Hunt wins British Rowing Indoor Championships title as Invictus athlete Kelly Ganfield returns to podium

09 December 2018

University of Bath Boat Club’s Kate Hunt went one step better than last year when she won gold at the 2018 Mizuno British Rowing Indoor Championships.

The International Development with Economics student, part of Dan Harris’ GB World-Class Start training group at the University, finished four seconds clear of the field in the women’s U23 2000m competition.

Joe Russell raced in the senior category against the GB men, including Olympic Champion Mo Sbihi who won the title, and finished a fine 14th overall, while Minerva Bath’s Jamie Board was 6th in the U23 category.

Invictus Games medallist Kelly Ganfield, who trains with Strength & Conditioning Coach George Studd at the University’s Sports Training Village, came away from the Lee Valley VeloPark with two podium places.

She was a silver-medallist in the Para Women 500m race and won gold with an Invictus team in the Mixed Adaptive Relay.
