Global gold-medallists Paul Blake and Sophie Kamlish get GB call for Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships

19 September 2019

Sophie Kamlish and Paul Blake will both be looking to add to their global medal collections after being named in the British Athletics squad for the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.

The duo, who are both coached by Rob Ellchuk at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, can boast four world titles between them and nine medals in total.

Kamlish broke the world record on the way to winning the T44 100m title when London hosted the last World Championships in 2017. She will contest the T64 100m when Dubai hosts this year’s event from November 7-15.

Rio 2016 Paralympic Champion Blake won gold medals at the 2011, 2013 and 2015 World Championships in the T36 400m and 800m. He will contest both events once again in November.
