Second Silver success for Harry Jones caps busy but rewarding month for University of Bath badminton players

University of Bath Dual Career student-athlete Harry Jones claimed his second Badminton England senior silver circuit title in five months with an impressive performance at the 89th Hull Silver tournament.
The Accounting and Finance student, who won the Wiltshire Senior Silver in December, lost just one set across five matches at the Hull Badminton Centre and secured the men’s title with a 21-11 23-25 21-11 victory over Alex Marritt in the final.
Psychology graduate Katie Scott, who continues to train with the University’s badminton performance squad, won women’s singles bronze in the Nottingham Senior Gold tournament.
The University of Bath Bronze tournament was staged at the Team Bath Sports Training Village earlier this month and saw Physics with Theoretical Physics student Dan Kite win the mixed singles.
Sport and Exercise Science student Katie Griffiths was runner-up in the women’s singles and the mixed doubles title was won by Toby Dillingham (Mechanical Engineering) and Cara Collins (Sports Performance).
Bath graduates were also among the medallists, with Zac Pallier and Andrew Heinemann winning the men’s doubles and Lia Willis finishing runner-up in the ladies’ doubles.
The Guernsey Senior Silver tournament saw Carys Batiste (Sport and Exercise Science) and partner Emily Trebert reach the final of the ladies’ doubles.
