Olympic swimming coach David McNulty awarded honorary degree by University of Bath during Winter Graduation Ceremonies

Olympic swimming coach David McNulty MBE has been awarded an honorary degree by the University of Bath, the institution where he has delivered his globally-renowned training programme for the past 17 years.

The honour was conferred by Cassie Wilson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience), during a Winter Graduation Ceremony at Bath Abbey on Wednesday.
Lead Coach of the Aquatics GB Bath Performance Centre since 2008, McNulty has guided athletes – including triple Olympic Champion Tom Dean – to medals at five consecutive Olympic Games, as well as World, Commonwealth and European titles.
Stephen Baddeley, Director of Sport at the University of Bath, was orator for the ceremony and said: “David’s extensive experience and holistic approach to training, allied with his innate enthusiasm and larger-than-life personality, has inspired a host of swimmers to achieve their full potential and excel at the highest level.
“David has also contributed vastly to the University’s sporting culture during the 17 years he has been based at the Sports Training Village. He sets the standards for others to aspire to, is a fantastic advocate for the University and is a hugely-popular figure, always taking time to acknowledge the support he and his athletes receive from staff.”
